The CoE can provide additional services in validation and compliance in interoperability among different standards, systems and applications in terms of protocols, communications and other connectivity services.
- IEEE 1451.0 – Information technology — Smart transducer interface for sensors and actuators — Common functions, communication protocols, and Transducer Electronic Data Sheet (TEDS) formats.
- IEEE 1451.1 – Information technology — Smart transducer interface for sensors and actuators — Part 1: Network Capable Application Processor (NCAP) information model.
This CoE is focused on the IEEE 1451 standard. Devices, or transducer nodes, with energy restrictions mostly because battery or an energy harvesting mechanism powers the device receive from this CoE special attention.
The CoE can offer an experimental setup, observing different configurations, with the required characteristics to integrate the device under test and evaluate its behaviour.
