The 'Center of Expertise' (CoE) on Standards is a service and support center provided to partners for guidance and implementation of standards compliance requirements necessary for meeting specific IEEE standards and best practices for their commercial products and applications. The Center provides guidance and support to partners and enterprises that may not have the background or expertise to guide them through strict standardized procedures of these requirements in ‘real-world’ or under ‘hostile’ environments, and adhering to IEEE standards and conformity.
A Center of Expertise for standards will:
- Provide pre-certification of products for IEEE standards
- Assist in ensuring interoperability inside standards’ families
- Provide a concrete model for interoperability testing of different conformant products implementing the same standard (plug-fest)
World wide network of Test/Verification/Validation CoEs
Available and operational CoEs around the world are listed here. For each center, a brief overview of the center’s test verification activities is described.
At each site, the potential Partner can review the capabilities of the Center, and contact the Center for more information and collaborative engagements.
The Centers are grouped in four geographic regions, namely: North America, South America, Europe and Asia.
Please review the world-wide map on the Home Page, to see the list of operating CoEs around the world. Select the CoE of interest by clicking on the designated CoE and it will take you to the Home page of the selected CoE.
Standards Certification
The IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES) Standards Committee maintains an advisory role in the CoE, and may participate in arranging for the final Standards certification with the IEEE Standards Development Organization (SDO).
